Samhita is looking for a talented Senior Web Developer to conceptualize and implement Samhita 2.0’s new product initiatives. This position is full time and based in Mumbai.

Responsibilities

- Understand Samhita.org, the technology behind the portal, and user needs

- Write specifications, prioritize and build features, organize testing and launch them - contribute your best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative, consumer-facing product

- Work closely with the founders, an experienced web development vendor and user interface designer to incorporate changes. Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems

- Implement modules to pull and store data from multiple partners and build APIs to access the data

- Facilitate communication throughout the development process between a variety of internal teams including operations, customer support and sales

- Analyze user experience and integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to ensure that products satisfy customer needs

- Manage the existing web development and design vendors

Requirements

- 2-4 years industry experience in a software engineering role, preferably building internet products

- B.Tech./ B.E./ B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred

- Good written and oral communication skills

- Exceptional technical ability and experience with web technologies (Ruby on Rails is a plus)

- Demonstrated skills in gathering requirements and managing projects is a plus

- Interest in the Indian social sector
